Senior 3D Animator

As a Senior 3D Animator, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, expressive character animations that enhance both gameplay and narrative. You will work closely with designers, technical artist, and programmers to ensure smooth integration of animations into the Unity 3D engine. Beyond mocap workflows, you should be able to deliver polished keyframe animations when stylization, fantasy elements, or prototyping require it. You will also contribute to cinematic sequences, using camera language and animation to strengthen storytelling and emotional impact. In this role, you will mentor junior team members, provide feedback, and help maintain consistency of the project’s animation style. A strong portfolio showcasing character work, acting, and combat animation is essential.
✅ Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality character animations (combat, locomotion, acting) that support gameplay and narrative.
- Ensure smooth in-engine animation integration through close collaboration with designers, tech artists, and programmers.
- Support visual consistency with the direction set by Art Director and Lead Animator
- Mentor junior animators and review outsourced work for quality and alignment.
- Participate in mocap sessions, clean-up, and retargeting.
- Optimize animations for performance and memory budgets, especially on mobile platforms.
- Review and manage outsourced animation to match project vision.
✅ Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience in animation (games, film, or TV) with at least one shipped title in a senior/lead role.
- Expert in character animation principles (body mechanics, weight, anticipation, follow-through, timing, acting).
- Proficient in Blender; experienced with motion capture cleanup, retargeting, and blending.
- Solid grasp of rigging fundamentals and team collaboration (skin weighting, controllers).
- Familiarity with Unity 3D and animation state machines.
- Profficient in facial animation workflows (blendshapes, bones, performance capture).
- Exceptionall communication and mentoring skills.
- Strong reel/portfolio showcasing gameplay and cinematic work.
- A big plus: cinematic/camera animation.
